Broken Heart

You broke my heart

After I broke yours

You ripped my soul

And crushed my dreams

To dust and I took the fall

I would do anything for you

Give anything for you

And yet it means nothing

to you

We go about our days

Day after day

Like strangers in a big city

And as weeks turn to months

I cry for you constantly

My dreams are crowded

With the images of your face

With the feel of your arms

Around me, keeping me safe

All thats left of you now

Are broken memories

That can never be replaced

That can never go away

Or even be erased

Tears spill down my cheeks

My heart cracks with sadness

The darkness creeps around me

It starts to surround me

Taking whatever happiness

Pulling me down in to blackness

Felling nothing but loneliness

How could it have come to this!

How could it have come to this...

This broken heart when somehow mended

Will be forever scarred and bended

The emptiness never to be blended

Thinking how I could have and did

What I should have and didn't instead
