Broken Heart
Dear old love, we started out friends,
And now I can’t stand the thought of you.
Your true colors shown, making my stomach turn.
At first everything seemed so innocent.
I loved you with all my heart,
So I question why you decided to rip it apart.
You said you’ve never loved anyone this much,
But then you cheat and sleep with someone new.
I spent months with my heart aching,
Only to realize you didn't waste a single breath.
Now I’ve gained the clarity I wish I had before.
You lack commitment and that will never change.
All I wanted was for you to stay,
This is when you saw your opportunity to run away.
Leaving me broken and hurt.
Making me clean up the mess you left behind,
Questioning what I did wrong,
But I’ve realized it was never me but you.
Everything has changed,
So thank you for the pain,
I have grown but you remain the same.
Sincerely,
The girl you left behind
