Broken love

I was tainted and forsaken being blinded by my madness.

Did I really love you? Or was I in loved with that thought.

Loving you was the insanity that kept me from my sanity.

Misplaced effort only made me suffer, trying too hard saying I love you

My heart would swallow its sorrow whenever you walked by

The pain would drain with each of your smiles

Yet the strain on my soul continued to tear me down upon feeling your disdain.

Wasn’t love pure and full hope? So why do I feel fear and despair when I’m with you?

Clouding my heart I began to crumble while stumbling towards dismay

Ignoring your feelings, betraying my heart, I became everything you didn’t need.

So I pushed you away, forced you away, and pulled you closer only to toss it away

I kept reaching for you while screeching to the skies “everything is ok”.

But my love wasn't just and I abused your trust with the notation of lust.

It wasn't healthy; I was toxic and prone to infections

Spewing words of confrontation in desperation hoping you’ll see how much you mean

But fate was against me, so you left me in ruin.

How callous of me to believe such a thing. I destroyed what meant the world to me.

This relationship sank the moment you knew

I desired you so much that I ignored what was true.

I loved you to death and that’s all I needed, but in the end I didn’t love myself and conceded

I fled from my shame and abandon my dream.

Why do I abuse myself and uproot what’s precious?

I ran away to make a change now the past is gone and my strife is at peace.

Finally I opened my eyes and saw the light hidden within madness.

My love was true but suffered blight.

I’ll be here for you

Let’s start over, but this time with you.
