Broken love

Love is but an empty field,

a bitter sweet emotion.

A one-sided feel is something to yield,

because it’s a dead-end notion.

Don’t let love lead you blind,

it’s never worth the pain.

Just follow your mind,

before heart takes over again.

You deserve so much more,

love is just a worthless trial.

Quickly shut the door,

and don’t open it for awhile.

I am a high school senior, I love to write in general, photography, and acting. Writing, especially poetry, has helped me not only grow in my talent but also get my inner critic to vanish and fuel my writing. I began writing poetry my sophomore year in high school with my first piece being about nature, and I have continued on with poetry and learned from each writing to make the next one better. Poetry is definitely something I am passionate about, there is just something about how one stanza can bring so much impact to the piece.
