The Broken Man

I am surrounded by others,

Yet I am completely alone

They are all actors

Covered in make-up, perfume and cologne

I wander around this lonely world

My life a flower whose petals have curled

From a shining light that came from within

A light that shines on all of my sin

I am a broken man

Cracked to the core before I even began

Now I search for a desperate repair

Looking for someone who will truly care

I am full of love waiting to come out

Yet every action brings more doubt

Every time I place my heart upon my sleeve

I find another who is swift to leave

I am not the man you all know

What you see is simply a show

To you I am a tower of stone

But really I am sad, broken, and alone
