Broken Me

`Turnin’ the corner when I was five

Where's my dive of a dad?

Love, but Instead

alcohol

He threw me a curveball

My family was shaken

Do you remember

breaking us?

Taking money for yourself

Tearing the house apart

Scattered glass and tin cans

First born

Then shoved aside

What did I ever do to you?

At least give me a clue

Broke my heart before any guy ever could

How many times would

You do this?

Wanting to kickstart

Screaming

And yelling

Do you remember my brother

and I hiding in fear?

But all you needed was

One little beer

Did it feel good

To watch us cry?

Fresh charge after one

You were a rollercoaster of emotions

Rose covered in thorns

Sunny days

with pouring rain

This pain

can never Be changed

The love you never exchanged

Left me craving more

Did it feel good

being at war In a place called home?

Time can roam

But that will never change

what you did to me

Like a shallow sea

But I can’t see the end

A wrecking train

But you

did not win

A new life begins

A world of

Might have beens

“What ifs”

Thrown away

A new ray

Comes a new day
