Broken but not Beaten

The mirror crashes down and pieces of me are on the floor

Who am I now? I cry to the air, to the Lord, to anyone

I said good-bye so long ago with words of hurt and anger

Never thinking this will be the last time to say goodbye

I was a daughter to two parents, now of one

How will I forgive him now?

How will I forgive myself?

Ashes on the floor, Ashes on the table

Ashes, Ashes, we all fall down

Down goes my heart, down goes my mind, down, down on my knees

But on my knees I feel a peace

A piece of mirror is lying before me, a reflection of who I am

Once a daughter but now a mother

I vow the next time I say goodbye it will be with loving words so if it is the last time, it will be well

It will be well with my soul, because I am broken for now but not beaten
