Broken Pieces

Looking down at the pictures of the girl I used to be Her shattered pieces frozen in the moments surrounding me I realize now that I was always fractured in tiny little ways But now I owe each broken piece for who I am today I see the flaws she tried to hide, ashamed to let them show Afraid for anyone to know that they were hers to own I wear my flaws boldly now for all the world to see Because I know I need to own myself and every broken piece I've used my broken pieces to build myself anew And I hope by letting my flaws show, you'll learn to own yours too
