Broken Pieces of a Puzzle

Puzzles are a big picture of a whole

One missing piece can break the picture apart

Family is that puzzle I need in order to feel a sense of wholeness

But it is a shame to see the pieces no longer fit

After years of wear and tear

Thus making the picture more abstract than concrete

I choose to piece this puzzling puzzle together

Through actions of selflessness

but like tape actions can only do so much

Places become blurry as I am repaid through

Acts of greed and ghosts of the past

So call me a masochist

But without my family

I have no place, no wholeness, no form of freedom

For that freedom I am willing to sacrifice everything

As family is where one begins and ends

So fix the present to allow

For the past to heal

And once you clear your piece, your part in this puzzle

Two options present themselves: Live broken or Live whole

By piecing this puzzle together, the need for wholeness is great

The greatness in being whole for once makes everything worthwhile
