Broken Prayers

Broken spirit..  Broken heart
I feel alone,  I feel torn apart
I feel set aside and left out
Life's a horrendous nightmare when everyday is filled with nothing but disappointment and doubt
No one ever sees the broken spirit
And the broken heart? No one ever feels it
Every morning I put on my mask and step onto stage
I lock away my true feelings and I lock the Real Me inside a cage
I smile, I laugh, I joke, and I play
But the pain on the inside gets stronger and stronger day by day
I try to Paralyze myself with jokes and laughter
But I've learned that pretending just makes solitude more intractable thereafter
I pray hard for brighter days
I pray hard for peace and a change in my ways
I pray hard for a chance to shine
I pray hard that I don't get left behind
I hope that one day God will mend My broken Heart
I hope that one day we can put back the pieces part by part
Most importantly I pray that God would heal my broken spirit
But I'm just a sinner, so I guess it could be years before he actually does hear it.
