A Broken Promise

I gave you my heart

And told you not to break it

You made the promise

And said you'd take it

Weeks went by

We grew apart

You broke your promise

You broke my heart

Yet as I sit here

I dare not cry

Because I knew from the beginning

Every hello ends with goodbye.
