Broken Time

I’m so lost in this world full of darkness With my arms reluctantly outstretched wide The only thing I find is emptiness Isolated and left alone, no reason to try The only thing left is to sit and cry. Slowly inching forward, nothing in tune Bumping into hardships and misfortune. Stitching together tiny torn pieces of will Life is nothing but a trek uphill Dreaming about the happy moments in life Is a fantasy just for my shivering mind to please Happiness seems to be a corner in a circular room As I plunge into the pool of misery and gloom. Taken aback with the speed at which things move around Life falls apart repeatedly without a sound Pushing the rebels of mishaps and regrets out of the way Nothing seems to work as the darkness is here to stay. Will it stop or does it never seize? Constantly ripped apart by the axe of the punisher The body and soul lapsed in perpetual time It needs nothing but a moment I find With each swing of a pendulum and tick of the clock. The world stays dark and there’s nowhere to flock I stay here in the dark hoping for love, hoping for light. Life moves on, and there’s only me in this fight. I find a crack in the clock, a crack in time A crack in my heart, cracks in my mind Take me back to when it all started So I can stop being broken hearted If I'd really known before what I needed most of all I would've stayed where my heart was with my soul I do care for what once used to be mine Got nothing right now, just blurred reflections ….Of broken time
