Broken Toy

Wed, 08/26/2015 - 20:03 -- Jazopal

I tried so hard to stay by your side
But all you've done is play and lie
I gave you all I ever had
And you decided to not give it back

You were my life
You were my love
You were what I dreamed of
You were my heart
You held my joy
But all I am is just a toy

I tried to be your everything, to fit into your mold
I'd run a million miles and cry tears of solid gold
I sat and waited in the dark everyday, afraid
When you finally came back, I was shattered and betrayed

You were my life
You were my love
You were what I dreamed of
You stabbed my heart
You stole my joy
And now I am a broken toy.
