Broken Wings

I thought I would never spread my wings.

For a while they were held by these hidden strings.

Strings of despair and doubt.

I tried to fight and yelled out.

But the darkness overpowered me with its evil eye.

I tried to figure out the answer but I didn't know why.

I almost gave in until I saw the light of hope.

That's when I knew my dedication was dope.

God repaired my wings of strength.

Thats when I knew life's length.

I fought hard and long.

Yet I'm tired but strong.

I knew everything would be ok.

Now I know that I'm here to stay.

I hope that I have a chance for this wonderful opportunity. Although I'm no poet I did my best.
