The Broken Wings of Butterflies
Where did the children go?
The laughing, smiling, joyous children,
Bright orbs of life.
Where did the children go?
Now replaced by the haunting corpse
Of a dismantled dream.
The toys are broken now
Broken by the wings of the
Half-hearted whispers coming from the
Barren mouths of past.
The Green Light gone.
The I know you can and the you’ll do greats
All just lies for synthetic hope.
We are an army.
An army of dead dreams and futures,
Carried on the broken wings of butterflies.
