The Broth That Binds (The Hot Pot)
In the heart of a bustling table, a story simmers beneath the steam,
A cauldron of memories, like a long-forgotten dream.
Spicy broth, plain broth, flavors bold and supreme,
In this shared repast, we find joy in the gleam.
Raw meats, seafood, vegetables so fine,
Noodles await, in broth, they intertwine.
Sauces for dipping, flavors align,
A feast for the senses, a taste refined.
Thin slices of beef, chicken, and lamb,
Fish balls, shrimp, and mussels grand.
Seafood galore, from ocean's strand,
Greens that flourish, by nature's hand.
Bok choy, napa, spinach, choy sum, and gai lan,
In the pot they nestle, their mingled flavors unwind.
Lotus root, potatoes, mushrooms in the pot's dance,
Winter melon, tofu, daikon, squash, in demand.
Each slice, a story, each leaf, a name,
A memory steeped in the broth’s warm flame.
From grandma’s hands to brother’s game,
Their warmth preserved in the broth’s soft frame.
Chopsticks hover, then plunge below,
Into the broth, a culinary soul.
Cook to your liking, then dip, behold,
In sauces that burst with zest untold.
Laughter rises, time drifts slow,
The warmth of broth, the fire's glow.
A meal to share, a bond to grow,
In simmered tales and moments to know.
More than a meal, it's a social delight,
Where bonds grow stronger with each winter night.
Colleagues and friends, family unite,
Around the hot pot, a heartwarming sight.
So gather around, let the broth's steam rise,
In the warmth of the pot, we find solace and ties.
Around this hot pot, culture and friendship thrive,
Hot pot simmers, where traditions survive.
