Brother
You left me alone in this world,
Your head was in a whirl,
You purposely took a step out of this world.
Weights, chains, iron bars pressed upon my chest until I could bear it no longer,
but my brother,
I remembered.
Bright, then Dark,
bit by bit,
The things that you taught me,
sunk into my being and fixed.
I pressed those weights, chains and iron bars
I pushed and even pulled,
until they were no longer.
My Brother, you have taught me,
and I remembered.
I will never let anyone go through what you have, not in my life.
Because it pains me that you have taken your own in bitterness and strife.
