Brother

Eyes windowing water

Smirk slighted by insecurity—

Do I know you?

Have I fabricated a face in your absence?

Two waves colliding in a triangle

But the rip-tide pulls me down—

Clash, shove, applause—

Your imprint is as clear as snow

But conceives two forms.

Why do I endanger my reputation

When the whispers fly?

Live up to your record or defend it?

You don’t experience your legacy—

I do.

In an instant you spread your wings—

I clean the decrepit nest

Good, bad—

A shadow is cast.

With bond of two—

Daring duo—

Tag team blast.

You were always better—greater

It’s no wonder your name is Great-dy.

Don’t let me down, don’t let me go—

Fingers spreading

This bird has flown

Dependency shattered—heart broken.

For the best?

No one can say.

Ties cut, long sea—

Own wind, fair travel.

I’ll see you again with my own shadow.

I accept the challenge.

I won’t stop fighting!

Accomplishing my dreams won’t be for you,

But maybe you’ll see me as an equal.
