Brother Words

You run into my room Screaming Saying you had a bad dream Saying the boogie-man is after you I open the covers The warmth leaves As you jump in quick You tell me to turn on a light As I get up you hide your face From the darkness I lay back in bed Trying to find a comfortable position With you attached to my hip Bubbah I’m scared of monsters. When you’re looking up at me I can see nothing but the whites in your eyes Wrapping my arm around you Everything is fine. You shake your head in disagreement But I’m afraid to go back to sleep, What if the scary things come back? I look around and wonder what Big brother thing to say, To get rid of the monsters
