A Brother's Heartbreak

In his face I can see it.

He doesn't recognize me.

My eyes begin to blur,

I run away.

Looking in the mirror,

I can't see myself.

Either,

I am disappearing,

Or,

This is someone else.

I hate this.

He pulls away.

He's gone.

I fall....

I stand back up.

I look in the mirror.

There's no recognition.

That's the best part.

I'm growing.

Days,

Months,

Years...

I approach him.

He remembers me,

He pulls away.

I stand.

I wait.

I know.

He will return...

He does.
