Brown Eyes

Eyes warm as the beach sand Hollow-like great oak trees Deep like a luscious forest Rich like the soil beneath our toes Eyes that shimmer like the stars in the night Eyes that are brown like bees' honey Eyes that tell the story of a million Brown eyes Brown, like the soft color of your skin Brown like the color of mine Brown like the sand under the clear blue water Brown like the foggy forest in fall Brown like the leaves on an autumn evening Brown like the cold mud after a rainy day Or the still murky waters Or the glistening of the sun setting in the summer The soft brownness of a bear The surreal look of old wood Flames in a fire that dim at night Rich dark brown eyes Eyes that keep me in a trance Beautiful brown eyes
