Brown Skin

My brown skin

It is hard to be in

Growing up in a world that thinks

We shouldn't be here

My brown skin makes me the loudest

My brown skin almost makes me the proudest

Brown skin isn't a flaw

My brown skin I have joy in

Brown skin makes you a threat

It's beauty at it's best

My brown skin makes me push harder

Fighting for what the society is taking

They kill us because of our brown skin

And others think its a trend

Use to talk about my lip

Cause they weren't thin

Saying Racism is over

But it really only began

Brown skin is not a trend

It's something greatness is in
