Bruised

  Do you see?

He never really noticed,

The face of a man.

Thats me.

How strange,

Even in bronze,

I thought.

It’s sad really,

I know they knew.

He tried to reconcile,

I wasn’t satisfied.

He died.

I felt inconsolable,

I never got to forgive.

The tears reached his lips,

“Sorry.”

We need to forgive ourselves,

For things we didn’t.

I beat myself up.

Make peace,

You need to forgive,

Not everyone is lucky.
