Bud Ice & Unsolicited Advice
A case of Bud Ice is all that it took
To get a young man named Eric totally hooked.
Through the years the addiction grew worse
The serenity prayer was often rehearsed.
He went to meetings and tried his best
The addiction was too strong he failed every test.
He would show up drunk often acting like a punk. Eric couldn't focus and he truly wasn't ready. He had tremors and the shakes
And his hands were unsteady.
We all hoped and prayed for the best
that Eric would grow and learn from the rest.
He entered rehab and was sober for 4 years
But then fell off the wagon which left his Mom in tears.
Eric recognizes his faults and failures at least. He has difficulty controlling the inner addiction beast.
Belligerent is how he acts when he drinks that wicked venom called beer. The one thing that's stopping him from helping himself, Is the four lettered word called FEAR.
When you fall down your supposed to get back up. Everyone fails multiple times but it's through our failures and practice that our behaviors are refined.
Practice makes perfect. Self discipline is hard. You keep trying your best or just give up and go to the bar.
You can hear all the advice in the world
But it isn't going to matter until you believe these words they are nothing more than mere chatter.
Withdrawal sucks! It's hard as hell.
You shake and have seizures and let's face it rehab feels like being in jail.
The good news though it is only temporary.
Uncontrolled Alcoholism is a death sentence invariably.
