Buddies

I'd thought we'd last

We've talked about the future and the past, together

Never knew this would come near

I was hoping you'd be staying

and spending more years

I don't know what went wrong

Was I not enough for you?

Did I not pay enough attention?

Have I possibly changed?

Or was I just annoying you?

I thought we were buddies

I thought we were friends

I never saw this coming

I never wanted it to end

I hope you know i'm sorry

If I ever came across as rude

I have faith that you'll find somebody new
