Building and Breaking

Broken in a million pieces

scattered in the dirt

wanting to be loved

but all I know is hurt

you take me

you save me

you brush off the earth

you see me

you free me

you believe I have worth

taking all my pieces

you begin to work

molding and making

me something new again

You bring vibrant color

yellow and red and pink

making me positive

making me think

we may have gray

the worst of days

but when you feel

broken in a million pieces

the dirt knows me too

I've been there

and

I'll be there for you
