Bullet Proof

Thu, 08/11/2016 - 23:18 -- Redbann

I try to pretend I am bullet proof,

got that hard face, but

just a gangster wannabe

a kid with a night light

and a fear of thunder strikes

but I feel the tears leaking through.

a nimbus cloud forms in the horizon

then rain comes which is seen by no one

cries of thunder that no one hears

lighting thundering out my deepest fears

Though they do not fall down my face.

I force the umbrella open

holey, bent, and very broken

but it cannot stop the torrent of emotion

I can espy your look of hate.

You're umbrella's seen the shower

and heard the thunder

in fact, it has torn asunder

It's the one I am giving you.

You rain on my parade

regurgitating the you this life has made

So, let's stop

                      and start something

 new

That's why I am praying for you.

Also you can keep my pick

which says Jesus.
