Bulletproof
He danced
Right into her heart
Cold and closed off
She wasn't looking
Didn't even know
What she was missing
The holes
That lined her soul
She had no clue
What to do
With her misery
She kept the pain
Tucked far away
Out of sight
Out of mind
She told herself all the time
Until he danced
Right into her heart
Shy boy
Handsome man
Big brown eyes
Soft hands
He drifted in
And never left
In a quiet night
He held her tight
And she went over the edge
Fell in love
All it took
Was one look
Someone to see her
Her soul
And the tears in it
And now he's filling her up
With his love
He danced
Right into her heart
And promised her the world
Tough girl
Warmer every day
Made of nails and steel
Now she knows
What is real
And what is fiction
He's a work of art
And she can't take her eyes
Off him
Off those big brown eyes
The truth
In the sea of lies
She's found something worth holding on to
Something just hers
Something bulletproof
