From Bully to Beautiful

The first day of school was fear,

Mumbled ridicule was all she’d hear.

They laughed and mocked as she walked by,

Oh the struggles of Junior High.

As days went on the whispering got worse,

What had she done to earn such a curse?

She told herself that this school would get better,

But she felt as though she wore a scarlet letter.

One day things changed and her fear was consoled,

A boy stood up proudly, his eyes filled with scold.

The boy yelled, “Stop it! There’s nothing wrong with her.”

And soon her bullied days were a memory, a blur.

She now had a friend and a shield from her taunting;

After all that time, she found what she’d been wanting.

Her school days were no longer fear and doubt;

That new friend was her cure; she was no longer cast out.

A few short words had changed her life,

And years later she became that little boy’s wife.

What would have happened that day if he wouldn’t have stood?

Their lives would be different, not nearly as good.

With their story in mind we should stand up for our peers;

Bullying is something that should always grind our gears!

Every story about a bully can have a happy ending;

So start your story today, you have two hands for lending.
