A Bundle of Contradictions

I am:

A seeker who is always looking to place himself in the best opportunity to be successful, and surrounding himself with those who have equal viewpoints.

A leader who doesn’t necessarily have to the Student Body President, to make a difference upon his fellow classmates.

An athlete who makes up in heart and dedication, when lacking in size or talent.

A visionary who experiences joy and fear as he wonders what chapters and responsibilities the future may hold.

A salesman who can give a person that “hates to shop,” the shopping experience of a lifetime while turning a one item transaction, into a six item sale after some warm-hearted conversation.

A Christian who is continually striving and struggling to follow the word of God.

A student who love learning for learning’s sake, not just to pad a transcript.

An economist who knows the value of money, now that he’s worked for it.

A composer who strangely finds enjoyment out of writing college essays while simultaneously tweeting about his day within one hundred and forty characters.

A utopian who expects nothing out of himself but to enjoy life to the fullest, while maintaining a dream career.

A sleeper who escapes the responsibilities of life with, “just five more minutes.”

A scholar-athlete who devotes himself to new challenges: physically, emotionally, and of course, intellectually.

A gutsy teen who has the irrational belief that he will succeed against all odds.

A volunteer who is compassionate about helping those around him out of the goodness of his heart.

A risk-taker who went through the experience of a lifetime while studying Sports Management at Fordham University, and seeing the “Big Apple” of New York City for the first time this past summer.

A realist who knows nothing in life is free, that he must work for what he desires.

An intellectual who ponders on how he can make his society a better place.

An advocate who strongly argues that a standardized four hour college entry exam should not define a student when going through the college admissions process.

A son who understands that nothing will repay the debt he owes to his parents, but when he emerges with a college education as an independent leader, and well-educated adult, he will know that his parents will be satisfied in knowing they raised him well.

A well liked classmate who was humbled to hear he won Prom royalty his junior year after running against his best friend.

A self-assured eighteen-year-old who knows patience, without being complacent, and refuses to let the sky be his limit.

An optimist who can't wait to seize his future and make his dreams of knowledge, sports, and happiness come to life.

A complete paradox who is one thing, then another, one extreme, then the total opposite... a bundle of earnest contradictions.
