the burn

if you love something let it free

and if it comes back it was meant to be

but if it doesn't return then you know the burn

the type of burn that no matter how much is treated, will never go away

and even if you try your best it will always remain

and once you're burned a type of hatred builds

and once begun will never stop trying to fill

like a hole that will forever last

if you don't forgive and forget then you're stuck in the past

and once in the past there is no coming back

the past is what makes us what we are today

but if we never leave the pain will always stay

people need to learn that life's good when you live in the present

and the present is better when you forgive the past

and once forgiven the sensation will always last

learn to forget but don't forget to learn

because although love is good you don't want to get burned
