Burn

I close my eyes And look for the stars They're hidden from me Blocked out by my scars They're hidden from me The answers I seek I call out for help Yet I cannot speak I call out for help For someone to see That no one is perfect Especially not me No one is perfect We've all told our lies The past never leaves us Even though we have tried The past never leaves us We carry our ghosts Our personal demons Keep haunted tales close Our personal demons Make us who we are But we hide from ourselves Look away from afar We hide from ourselves In the midst of the crowd We look for our fortune With truth in the clouds We look for our fortune Where others see naught Beneath what we've broken Through battles we've fought Beneath what we've broken There lies what we've earned For to rise from the ashes First we must burn
