Burn Caution
She was gliding my way a scarlet cat stalking its prey;
She was buried Ankle-deep In a blood-red pair of Prada;
Her smile played out with a serpentine scheme;
Her eyes fluttered around me with a hungry look- a venomous gleam;
She was so near and so red She bled my words away;
I was but a fruit to her- new to the game ripe for the plucking and to a predator like her, lame;
I needed so badly, her fangs in my skin to burn me and swallow me whole;
She leaned in to me and said: “I don’t do anything by the book”
Animals hooted in excitement and jealous to know I, a she, was the one to be devoured by the beast;
And the lamb laid with the lioness, to shelter, love, and care and cloak- but even in the quiet den the world outside was always at their throats.
