Burned

You always prepare before you step outside.

A little preparation is okay,

For,

You don’t want to get burned.

But sometimes you would rather stay inside

Than bask in the light of the sun,

Because you are too scared of getting burned,

That you don’t even go outside at all.

But wouldn’t it be better

To risk getting burned,

Than never knowing how you would’ve felt

With the heat on your face,

Brightening your whole being,

With the joy only one can feel,

Knowing a risk was worth taking?

Because going outside doesn’t mean you get burned,

It means your heart screamed a little bit louder than your mind,

Letting you know a little bit of sun won’t hurt you.
