Burning Fire
I see fire.
Burning, engulfing flames
Rising, growing.
You can't feel the heat, the pain.
You're numb to its lashes.
You're oblivious to the blisters. You're hypnotised by it's visual power.
You can't move.
You're held fast by its whisps of smoke.
Your body shrivels and burns
Still, no pain.
It's on the inside,
burning you alive.
No one else knows of your decay
for they are blind to their own.
It's only at the end that you feel.
With each gasping breath you rip open another sore
In agony you finally realize...
You realize what you've become.
A monster. A creature. A man.
Giving in to acceptance you ffaaddee away.
Only to once again be fuel for the fire.
