The burning light

How can one deny this connection

To deny this love and affection

Even in the brightest of days

Or the darkest of nights

How can one deny this perfect imperfection

To have this bond, this love, and joy

How can one be this hatred joy

To be controlling, demanding, like a king to his kingdom

One must rule with love rather than rule with fear

Even in the coldest night

Hold her tighly, the one that shines

For she is the light that guides through the night

Do not snuff out this warming sight

for those who do, lay frozen, brittle, with darkness by their side

wishing for my sunshine to rise once more
