The Burning Of Our Hearts
The Burning Of Our Hearts
In an effort to get you to look of what you had left
into each other’s eyes we see love still remains
The burning of our hearts still has flames
Even though years ago someone had taken us apart
Even broken our hearts into over and over again
When my phone rings, I put it to my ear
without saying a word you already know where my heart
belonged In the restaurant I point at coffee
I am adjusting well to the new way I have been
Late at night, I call my long distance lover yet friend
talking about why we had once ended
When he responded telling me he was sorry forever hurting
me like he did he told me he had always loved me
But his heart was still to young
I know he used up all his words but my heart hungered for more
I slowly whisper back I love you
After that, we just sit on the line talking about what ever came to mind
We listen to each other breathe out love
A love we healed within sometime ago
A love that never burned out
