Burst My Bubble

My bubble is fragile

as people get closer and closer to me

I am afraid it will pop

so I make them leave make them leave

and I'm left alone in the bubble again

starved of oxygen.

When will I learn that it needs to be burst?

I need someone to close in on me

and squeeze it to breaking

even if the first contact hurts.

I need their arms truly around me

My skin screams for it

as my lungs scream for fresh air.

Yet the bubble is so nice

and round

and shiny

I see the nebula of soap spread across it's surface

and ignore what's beyond it

despite it's transparency.
