You didn’t want to be sick, but you were.

You didn’t want to suffer, but you did.

You didn’t want cancer, but you had it.

You thought life was fair, but it isn’t.

You wanted to be here for your boys, but you can’t.

You wanted to grow old, but you won’t.

You wanted to live, but you couldn’t.

You want to be here, but you aren’t.
