Butterflies
I didn't wanna go because
Her smile
That's all i remember and then her pale face and a piercing beep resonating on all the walls.
Her usually cubby bubbly face in no longer in a happy state and her hair's all gone
My last words were not able to be said as i thought they'd be.
She will never see me in a cap and gown
Won't be able to see me in my prom dress
Her last images weren't of me
I couldn't see her and she never saw me
My last image of her is the only thing that has been engraved into my mind for the last four years Everything beyond that one moment all I've been able to see is
A white hospital
A pink dress
And a monarch butterfly
Thinking of her elicits a hard knot in my throat and my eyes start watering
Her smile was engraved into the stars
Her eyes in the sky
And her soul in every single butterfly i see
The world didnt need her anymore
When would it need me
