BUTTERFLY

Beneath the stars, above the moon
Under the roaring, bursting sun
Trailing like comets through the sky
Treating their audience to rainbows of light
Exclaiming the purpose of imagination
Residing within, a soul’s impersonation
Finding its way as it wanders through today
Listening just long enough to hear what you say
You see, you memorize, you fantasize of butterflies
