Butterfly

A flash of hand

Reaching

Tiny like the wings of a butterfly

There is a graze of fingertips on my leg

Clinging

Desperate

Playful

I pull away not wanting to be disturbed in my journey

A gasp as she feels my rejection

Acceptance

As I continue to walk I think of the brush of her hand

Like the flutter of the heart

Soft like wings of a butterfly

I go back and kiss her wings

Keep them I tell her

She smiles

My beautiful butterfly
