Butterfly

Can butterflies cause a hurricane?

I think I know the answer

I’ve felt it in my chest

I’ve felt it in my stomach

It starts a gentle flutter

But then he looks at me

A gentle breeze, now a raging wind

Forces my heart down to my stomach

No matter how close we may be

As best friends, or physically

It doesn’t change

I know that I can be myself,

But part of me still wants to hide

He technically isn’t mine

And I fear he will leave my side

He’s not some ordinary guy,

I don’t just blush when I see him

He brings me peace in difficult times

And I know I love him
