THE BUTTERFLY

The Butterfly Why must the world exist? And why must I be in it? For the world is cruel, dark, selfish. Oh how I vex every injustice, man and nature. A Man, greedy at heart, takes the home of the defenseless; the Sun scars their victims. Man takes water to quench his own thirst While the Rain washes away the Poor’s hopes. A Man uses weapons to take lives; animal and human, both innocent, while Fire does the same. A Man takes at will whatever he desires, at no instant consequence; the Wind blows away all.” I meditate in this, while a take a leisurely stroll, knowing only one thing for sure. One. That both Nature and Man compete to be the worst this world can offer. That justice does not exist; it is an illusion at best. Hope is weakness, for it is believing in a lie. The world is a tragic place, a place where nothing and no one belongs. The Sun begins to darken, for a storm is near. As I walk to my home, I notice a small white butterfly; a beauty indeed. I instantly feel dreadful, For I know it has suffered under the scorching Sun. I follow it home, and notice it flies happily, Despite the immense heat. I notice the Wind starts to blow stronger by the minute. My poor companion can only flap around, like a lifeless feather. But she keeps flying. I am amazed, but it begins to Rain. My hopes fall, for surely, I guarantee, she will die now. For she is thousands of times smaller, and every single drop that falls makes her wings heavier. But she keeps rising above the rain. It uses the rhythm of the drops to avoid death. It feels its way through the harshness of the rain and darkness of the clouds. It adapts its wings to the Wind to climb higher and higher to reach the trees that will at Last give her the rest she rightfully deserves. I cannot stop admiring this Amazing & Remarkable . . . . Creature. All I can Think of is, If this small, Defenseless creature can stand above all odds and still keep on flying, So can I. She has surpassed all obstacles and is still Beautiful and striving. What an amazing Little creature. She is awesome, for she has made me realize that, despite all the disappointments Life, Nature, and Even humans can Bring; Life, Nature, and yes, even Humans, are awesome. It May just take us a chance to examine one small creature to realize this. Keep flying my friends.
