Butterfly

All I need is the hope of Your Word

irredescent wings unfolding to Your song

just need something of which to cling and hold on

if You give me just one sign

from the petals unfolding in Spring

to the transformation from a caterpillar to a butterfly

will be enough to keep going through the darkness of night

fireflies like lanterns tracing words by fire embers burning

like amber sunlight

even slight warmth to comfort

my shivering mind

If You give Me just one sign I hope

I promise I'll cherish this place as my paradise

I'll cradle each cacoon in the palms of Your hand

water roses delicately until their ready to bloom

call this place Your home

from which You give me a room

the freedom and beauty of wings that unfold

in the safety of Your turqoiuse skies

I am a poet and artist. I have a great appreciation for music and enjoy singing and playing ukulele. I believe art and music bring communities together. Currently, I am pursuing a psychology degree and hope I can apply that to helping people.
