Butterfly

A beam of light;

Filtering

Through the boughs of green,

As shadows dance,

And shadows prance,

Casting upon the ground below;

Making and creating,

A moving picture,

Artistic work of some creative soul.

As a gentle zephyr sways,

Deciduous leaves abound;

Fluttering,

On their journey to earth,

As Mother Nature waits.

A rich tapestry;

Of vibrant autumn tones,

A shawl for warmth,

To wrap around Old Woman Earth,

In vibrant reds,

And of course

Be there warm and bright orange hues,

Accompanied by;

Colours rich of delicate yellows and browns,

And there somewhere

‘Neath a cloudy sky,

With a hint of rain to come,

There to cleanse

A coloured cascade,

Of blossoms turned

Seeking, searching,

A solace from Sol above

Whose warmth and comfort beckons,

As gradually before one’s naked eye;

With pleasure appealing,

Broad wings a fluttering,

Floating back and forth

On an upward lifting drift,

As around and around my garden

Flies,

This my friend

Is always the eye-catching

Attractive butterfly.
