Butterfly

Buterflies are one of nature's most beautiful. He compliments my wings even though they have been bruised and torn apart. Still, he tells me how capturing my vibrant wings are. He doesn't acknowledge the tears and stains on my wings contributed together by the years of self hatred and abuse. He makes me feel new, he makes me feel like a butterfly. He understands why I am the way I am, but he reminds me that my past does NOT define me nor does it define my future. I am not an ordinary butterfly, I am a butterfly made beautiful by the reflection of someone whose perception only proved to myself that I am better than my caterpillar skeleton.
