Butterfly Effect

I am on a journey; a journey, a quest for my identity.  You see me as the apple of your eye, you see me as your glory.  But I am not sure what I see, I only know what I wish to see.  I want to see me.  Who am I really?

I want you to be happy with me and him and her but the chances of that happening – of me pleasing everyone are slim to never.  What makes me to seek approval from those who could care less if I should fail or succeed?  What is it that motivates me to create multiple needs?

Is it because I’m lonely, frail, afraid?  Why, why do I feel so caged?

My journey gives me wings and leads me to treasures often hard to find, my journey makes me free because my journey is mine.

I won’t back down and I won’t give up.  I’ll embrace my passions, I’ll employ my love.  I’ll give back to those who have given to me and I will help even those I may never meet.

My journey is my own, and seeks not the opinion of others, my journey is my treasure.  My quest continues and my walk with you enhanced, and if ever asked the question did I sit it out or dance?  I’ll smile proudly and boldly reply, does the footprints I left in the sand tell a lie?

Yes, I danced and my quest continues.  Now watch me fly as I leave my cocoon.
