these are the moments i live for,

green shirt stained with sweat to my body,

athletic shorts torn down to my knees -

the laughing, the giggling, the bubbling over

that can only happen in an abandoned house in a freezing basement.

my most intimate self is hanging out of the nylon mesh,

but i don’t care, it feels fitting -

all that matters is the fire dripping through my veins,

and the smiles of the faces of the people that i love

illuminated, punchdrunk and pink.

its funny how it’s only now, only here,

with our brains in our ass

and our hearts on our sleeve

that the facades wash away like the oyster covering a pearl,

and finally finally we can love, we can feel, we can talk,

now, just now, only now,

as the icy walls between us have been melted away

by the fire in our veins.
