Bystander

The way I see it,

we are the forgotten.

Tucked into the back of the school,

hidden by the darkness of the hallway before it.

Tell me,

why are we secondary?

Confined by the idea that art is only a hobby.

that drawing is only a hobby,

photography is only a hobby,

but I can assure you

art is a profession

a confession of my soul

and I will continue to pursue the thing I love most.

So when you imprison me into dark corners

and try to shut me out

I will raise my voice louder

and i will paint my escape from your restraints.

You see,

the way I see it,

you are afraid of the things I can do with just my mind.

And you should be.
